The rain moved out last night late sometime. I "think" I heard the last heavy rain on the backside of that Low Pressure system move over bout my bed time. My gauge shows I got .74 " in the last 24 hours but I think it reads low. ( for example the private weather station I check located over SW of me is showing he got 1.67")
It's probably time to take it down, clean it out, put in new rechargeable batteries and do the same on the unit on top of the tall pole that records all the wind and other stuff. It's lost it's wireless feed a time or two lately and the battery indicator thingie is showing way down on the low side. They recharge via the small solar panel mounted on the pole facing south, so no power cord out there. I'm really surprised they lasted as long as they did , 2 years. Cause I ain't never had any luck at all with rechargeable batteries.
The "offical" weather is showing....

Coming up on 10AM mid morning. Figured out that the simulated chili mix I made and ate last night is coming back to get me!!! Guess my body is geting ole and worn out. Just can't handle foods I used to eat all the time. Shoot it used to be nuthing for me to eat a whole meal of hot peppers and spicy foods with no problems.
The only thing that ever really caused me any issues was ice cream! Doc told me that most likely I had lactose intolerance. Can't handle milk products well. Either that came along with age or I just don't remember back on the farm ,cause we drank gallons of real fresh milk from a local dairy . Or maybe the milk we getting today in products is different? Too many added in chemicals? I don't know.. and don't really care about the milk issue.
I just have to keep reminding myself that I can't eat the same things in the same amounts like I used to..
Retired Mexican-American chef Martin Naranjo shares an L.A. home with his three gorgeous, but single, adult daughters. Though he long ago lost his ability to taste, Martin still lives to cook incredibly lavish dinners for his loved ones and to serve them in a family-style ritual at traditional sit-down meals. Although the women humor their father's old-fashioned ways, each of them is searching for fulfillment outside the family circle.
IF I Ever marry again or get serious about a girl friend, she is going to be Hispanic or at the very least know how to cook those dishes.
I absolutely love that cuisine.
And again, thanks for the comics.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comics, buddy!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about not being able to eat some of the same foods as I used to. So many of my taste have changed since I got older...and a lot of my taste changed when I went on the blood thinner! Go figure that one out!
All part of the game of life, I reckon, but at least we're still playing!
Yep, we're still in the game..
DeleteMy taste changed after my stroke and blood pressure meds as well.
At least we're still kicking huh? :-)
Been studying the past few months on a random sneezing problem and just recently narrowed it down to corn syrup. Unfortunately, corn syrup is a big ingredient in pecan pie. ARGH! Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI'll really know it's time to punch my own ticket if I ever lose my appreciation for "The Scent of a Woman" HAH!
