Weatherman actually got the forecast right!! Started raining here around midnight and still is. Just a gently rain , Showing one inch plus a little so far. On radar looks like it the heavy coverage may move out later today sometime.
So much for any yard mowing till it dries out some in the next few days. IF it stays warm like it has been , going to be a bugger bear. But ole Big John is up to it.:-)

All the Blogger Community is up in arms about this new two word verification crap to post a comment. Found out that so far they ( whoever they are) hasn't responded to the complaints. BUT I did find out ( I think) how to turn it off.
Simply remove the check mark in my Blogger control panel and allow anyone to post. Guess here in a bit once I get more coffee and thinking more straight , I'll edit that setting. Course then I'll have to monitor the comments more closely ,but.. anything for y'all. :-)
One think I am going to ask is, IF you want to post an anonymous comment at least put in something that will show who you are or where you are. Inquiring minds want to know. ( tidbit: National Enquirer used that line in a commercial back some years ago. Guess that's where I got it from )
So, let's get some coffee and really wake up. Then I'll go fool with the Blogger settings and see if I can make y'all happy again. :-)
9AM ish and it appears that the settings I changed about comments worked. :-) and yea, I even found a way I could test it with an Annonouse post . :-)
Got my two small bills paid online so that's all out of the way ( you just watch, I'll find another bill in the mail later)
If it weren't so yucky with the heavy off and on drizzle I'd take BOT up to fill it's tank and check the mileage now that it's all back up to snuff.
Another note, found out during my meeting last night that Mother still had some land/lots out in Sipe Springs that her dad had bought way back when ( 1930? ) for taxes. Over the years she had kept the taxes up on them ( something minimal, $20/ year? ) . so shoot, since no one else is interested in them I may just take them.
Hey!! I could clear it off and have a place to escape for sure. Only bout a long hour from here. Real remote. Here's a link to it from the Texas Ghost Towns site. Think the last time I was there had to be in the '80s . As best I remember her lots encompassed the ole school building such as it was.
Heck if I hit the lottery this evening, I'll just buy the whole town! :-)
Early afternoon . Still raining. Reminded me that an Anonymous comment the other day had ask if my steel roof was loud. Well, not bad , I can hear the TV over it, but just to give you an idea.. Here's a short video or today's' rain on the roof.
My Chile mix worked out OK, I just spooned some onto tortillas with re-fried beans , onions and cheese. Pretty good eatin, course I got left overs. :-)
Evening news time.. STILL getting light rain out side. Been like this all day. I'm not complaing mine you we can sure use it. I'm showing about 3/4 " since I checked it this morning.
That big ole plate of chile makings I made for lunch is sitting heavy, go I think here in a bit I'll find somehting to snack on instead of eating anything big.
All in all been a wet, cool day. Good to be inside and dry for sure.

That would be nice if you removed the 2 word setting for comments. Sure is a pain in the backside!
ReplyDeleteYour comment on my blog this morning sure made me laugh! Love starting the morning off with a good chuckle!
You have a good one, buddy!
Thanks Hermit ,, I'm trying to git rid of the log in comment crap..
ReplyDeleteAnnonouse post to see if it works.
ReplyDeleteI don't why things always get changed, just when you get used to something they add another word (grin). Actually, it didn't bother me any.
ReplyDeleteMe too to see if it works.
ReplyDeleteHank
It worked no word verification for me anyway
ReplyDeleteThanks for testing folks. Jim, I deleted your one comment. no biggie, just didn't see the need to two from the same one. :-)
DeleteHey Ben, Still enjoying your blog,
