Early Friday ,Jan 27th, '12.Bagels, Oregon, Terlingua and old High School Memories

First off I got an email from brilliant, lovely, talented daughter last evening telling me that the Chamber of Commerce had done a report from The Hood River Bagel Company,  Her Place of course.  So with out further ado just watch
So if you’re headed up that way. Plan to stop in and say HI.
( I'm still waiting for her to put up some videos of home life using the camera I sent them :-) )

And from a totally different part of the Country..
Where I stayed in Terlingua last trip I stayed in Big Bend Holiday Hotel   The “suite I stayed in is the El Patron and now there is  a link from Jim’s page  ( which is under construction as we speak) , but he’s getting there so check back often for updates.

Otherwise this morning.  Weather’s looking pretty good .

36.8 °F
Clear
Windchill:     37 °F
Humidity:     81%
Wind:     2.0 mph from the NW
Wind Gust:     2.0 mph
Visibility:     10.0 miles
Dew Point:     32 °F
Pressure:     30.02 in (Falling)

NWS forecast: Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 70. South wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west.

But I’m all PO’ed.. Dammed Geek Squad was supposed to be here yesterday but never showed up and never called after the morning recorded thing telling me they would be here.. #$%^^)*!!!!!

So, yesterday I mentioned my ole school bud. Roger. He and I did an ad lib routine in High school  for some event, on stage at a talent show thing. I think first we planned on singing  but ended up doing a bit about  Jose Jimenez interview about the first Astronaut,  I found the link to the original ( but we had it on a record album  to learn it from)  It’s sort of long but . Here’s Bill Dana as Jose, The First Astronaut. ( it runs about 8 minutes )
OK, I'll probably go out for something or the other today  I'm sure cause I make it a point to get out of the house each and every day  ( unless there' ice on the roads)

One thing I will do is take a walk out back and see how much , if any,my  buried burn pile settled with the rain I had. Sure is going to speed up my mowing out there not having to dodge around that pile of limbs, brush and trash. :-)

And also going to see about maybe raising the big ole spray heads on my aerobic sewer system.   When I had them installed I had them put ground level to make it easier to mow around. However I have discovered that being ground level they get grass runners in them and tend to get bound up.  Ummm, brain working here. Wonder if I could put some sort of barrier around the pipe part to act as a safety thing when I raise them just  in case I do bump them with the mower deck?   I'll look at that and think on it some.

Mo' Coffee and gag my pills down....  BBL!!!

Forgot to post a picture I took yesterday.  I had tossed the last of a cake half I had cause it got stale . The big ole crows found it. Had to take the picture through the window cause they hear me if I touch the door knob to go out.    Never could get all three of them in the shot.

Crows are back in force!! And even a squirrel came over to check out the last of the cake I had tossed yesterday.

Dang near 10PM and I'm outta here. Coffee pot made up, cats in.The Geek did show up and fooled with this and that and the other. Finally called HIS Geek and figered out that my ISP "AT&T" reassigns a new IP everytime I boot. So, he loaded in a gadget that assigns me a new ip that the cameras can find all the time. It'll work great as long as I only use it here. So if I travel, simply don't run the IP reload  ..
Any who it's working again.
And I'm going to bed.....................

  1. Don't you just hate it when a company says they will be at your place at a certain day and time and they don't show and you had to wait there for them? I would never use them again.

  2. Yea, Dizzy most likely this is my last venture with those guys. I GOT to find me a local kid. My other guy is good with basics but this stuff I'm trying to get back working is beyond him (and me )

  3. What's bad is when they don't even have the courtesy to call if they aren't going to make their appointment!

Those crows and squirrels are really going after that cake! Now they are going to expect it every day!

    You got 'em spoiled!

  4. I'm with you on the Geek guys Hermit. last time i try them

I used to have a big metal target at the base of that tree. Then the tree rats showed up to rob the feeder I'd fire a shot into the pan and scare them off. Had to quit when they moved a house in there. Might have taken a window out!!
